Why Doggy Do Designs?

Meet Willow. She is a very spoilt mini dachshund who runs our house in Melbourne's outer east. Clothes for little long dogs are not easy to find - and what I did find certainly did not work for Willow.

She could wiggle her way out of almost anything - if the outfit was long enough for her back the chest / belly size was usually double what she needed, and she would Houdini her way out in mere seconds - outfits with clips for tightening the body were no good, because she would not stay still long enough for us to do them up. And any knitted jumpers that did fit had the armholes chewed off. Which is why I decided to make my own..

I found the perfect pattern for Willow was one with a nice long back, a generous neck, and adjustable velcro fastening around the mid-section - and a really cute hood, complete with an opening for her lead to clip through to her collar

Willow now has a little brother, Milo - Milo was way too little for Doggy Hoody's, so I am designed the Hoodyless Hoody for puppies. Milo also doesn't really like wearing any Hoody's, but does feel the cold - which is why we now have Doggy Turtle Necks in our range.

Both Willow and Milo are terrors after bath time -they just won't let us towel them dry. The solution to this was to create the Beach & Bath Hoody - we put them on after the bath and they dry themselves as they run zoomie laps around the house!

We haven't forgotten the people who have lost their hearts to dachshunds either. We have a range of tote bags, key rings and our must for entertaining - A Little Sausage on Your Cheeseboards resin cheeseboards.

As for the 'Doggy Do' - that's been my nickname for Willow since she joined our family, so it was the perfect name for the clothing that she inspired!
